Revelation: When Poison Lingers and Truth Unfolds.
This is my first drawing in my series, They Might Be Gods. It’s a two sided coin and one of those sides is the imagery of pouring poison in sleepers’ ears. Inspired from Shakespeare Hamlet. If you need a refresh, Hamlet’s father is the king. The king’s own brother pours poison in the king’s ear while he is sleeping and it kills him. I find that imagery and the metaphor of manipulating others with our words very intriguing.
However in my world of ‘They Might Be Gods’, the sleepers don’t die but the poison does deeply affect them, or I should say the lies or manipulations deeply affect them.
In this drawing the character has just discovered that she has been poisoned. I think she is realizing she has been manipulated and there is a lot to comb through to see what is true and what are lies.
